Privacy Policy
AfriEmail Trust Gateway (“AfriEmail”, “we”, “us”) is operated by Agodi Technologies. This policy explains what we collect when you use our email-trust and threat-detection services, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We apply it worldwide and align it with South Africa's POPIA and the EU's GDPR.
1. Information we collect
Account data
Name, email address and authentication credentials (passwords are hashed by our auth provider and never stored in plain text).
Content you submit for scanning
Email text, headers, sender domains, links and attachment metadata you submit to the scanner or API. We analyse this to produce a trust verdict. Attachments are analysed statically and are never executed.
Usage and technical data
Scan history, API usage, IP address, browser type and timestamps used for security, billing and product improvement.
2. How we use your information
- To perform email authentication (SPF/DKIM/DMARC), impersonation, phishing, link and attachment analysis.
- To show your dashboards, scan history and alerts.
- To authenticate you, secure your account and maintain audit logs.
- To process payments and enforce plan limits.
- To detect, prevent and investigate fraud and abuse of the service.
3. Legal bases (GDPR)
We process personal data on the bases of contract performance, our legitimate interest in providing email security, your consent where required, and compliance with legal obligations.
4. Sharing
We do not sell your data. We share it only with sub-processors that help us run the service (hosting, database, email delivery and payments), each bound by data-protection terms. We may disclose information where required by law.
5. Retention
Scan records are retained for your account's configured retention window (default 12 months) and then deleted or anonymised. You can delete individual scans at any time. Account data is kept while your account is active.
6. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may access, correct, export or delete your personal data, object to or restrict processing, and withdraw consent. Contact privacy@afriemail.com.
7. Security
We use encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access control, MFA-ready authentication and audit logging. No system is perfectly secure, but we work continuously to protect your data.
8. International transfers
Your data may be processed in regions where we or our sub-processors operate, using appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
